Dismissal Obtained in Pennsylvania Motorcycle Helmet Product Liability Case

Jim Ughetta and Scott Toomey (formerly with the Campbell firm) obtained a dismissal in a motorcycle helmet product liability wrongful death case pending in the Court of Common Pleas, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The 24 year old motorcyclist sustained serious head injuries when his motorcycle collided with a motor vehicle at a street intersection. The motorcyclist was in a coma until he passed away 4.5 months following the accident. Plaintiffs contended that a defectively designed helmet retention system allowed the helmet to come off during the accident.
